Animal Services - Pet Registration

Chatham County Animal Services will continue to complete pet registrations by mail. Pet owners should submit rabies certificates and payments (check or money order made out to Chatham County Animal Services) to P.O. Box 9522, Savannah GA 31412. Please allow 10-14 days to receive your tag.

If you need to complete registration in person, staff can accommodate you, though there may be a wait.

Annual Rabies Tag System

To assist pet owners in complying with Chatham County's Animal Services Ordinance, Chatham County has adopted the following procedures. Pet tags are renewed either 1 year for $5.00 or every 3 years for $15.00 within thirty (30) days of each annual rabies inoculation. Tags may be obtained through the mail, addressed to P.O. Box 9522, Savannah, GA 31412.

The Chatham County Board of Commissioners approved the following fee structure. License fees for dogs and cats will range from $5.00 to $15.00 per animal depending on whether you got a 1 year or 3 year rabies vaccination.

The fees are as follows:

1 Year Tag	$5.00
3 Year Tag	$15.00

All cats and dogs must wear the County Rabies Tag

Registration of Dogs & Cats

All dogs and cats which have become four (4) months of age shall be inoculated against rabies, and their owner shall obtain a license for such dogs or cats within thirty (30) days of each annual inoculation. All tags obtained through the mail must be accompanied by a check or money order (NO CASH) made out to Chatham County Animal Services. Please send one copy of each inoculation certificate. Keep the other for your records.
